Hi everyone! My name is Dawn Strake, and I’m the portrait consultant here at Unforgettable Photography!
Whenever you call the studio, I’m the voice behind the phone and your go-to girl! My position is to help guide you through image reveal appointments, booking sessions, packing up orders, answering any questions you may have, and most importantly, being a friend.
In my eyes, my role is so extraordinary for a multitude of reasons. My favorite part of this job is the memories tied along with each session. Getting to be in the room watching the raw & genuine reactions and emotions coming from each person viewing their gallery is something so special to me.
I like to stay busy at work, so I also double as an assistant to Anna whenever the time may arise. So, you may even see me on a session with her, or helping with whatever crazy idea that she has in the studio! To add onto keeping myself busy, I also assist in designing albums where I collaborate with clients to create beautiful, personalized layouts that capture the essence of their memories.
Before joining the team at Unforgettable Photography, I spent more than 20 years in education, teaching at both Germantown Elementary School and Aviston Grade School. While I loved my time in the classroom, I eventually saw a need in our community for quality after-school care. Taking a leap of faith, I started Beyond the Bell, Germantown’s after-school program, which I still own and manage today. Watching it grow from an idea into a thriving business has been one of my proudest accomplishments, and I’m excited to see what the future holds.
I was born and raised in Germantown and, after college, was fortunate enough to make my way back to the community I love. My husband, Ryan, and I were married in 2005, and together we have three wonderful children: Ava (19), Ty (15), and Van (13). Our family also includes two adopted dogs, Sunny and Wally, who keep life interesting and keep us on our toes!
When I’m not working, you’ll most likely find me sitting in a gym, cheering from the sidelines, or driving my kids from one activity to the next. It keeps me busy, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. In the little bit of free time I do have, I enjoy spending time on Carlyle Lake, trying new restaurants, and curling up to watch a good scary movie.
