Shelly Kohrmann
Wealth Advisor

Shelly Kohrmann is the type of person who lights up a room the moment she steps inside. With a genuine heart and a passion for helping others, Shelly has forged a path in life centered around making a difference. A proud Germantown native, she credits her parents for their guidance—strict but supportive—and her volleyball coaches for shaping her work ethic and competitive drive.

For Shelly, life has always been about the people she encounters and the impact she can have. She finds inspiration every day in the simple act of helping others. Whether it’s through her work as a Wealth Advisor or coaching youth volleyball, her goal is always the same: to make others feel empowered and confident.

Shelly, tell us a bit about your background and what drives you.
I come from Germantown, and I’m proud to have had amazing parents who taught me the value of hard work while also allowing me to enjoy life. One of the biggest influences on me was Mrs. Buller, my grade school volleyball coach. She helped lay the foundation for my strong work ethic and competitive spirit.

Every day, I’m inspired by the joy of helping others. I truly enjoy smiling and laughing, so I seek out people who share that zest for life. Being around those who lift me up makes me happy, and I hope to do the same for others.

What challenge have you overcome, and how has it shaped you?
I wouldn’t say I’ve faced any major obstacles, but life hasn’t always been easy. The tough times and bumps in the road have all been opportunities to grow, and I’ve learned that the most successful people often come from the hardest paths. I just take everything as it comes and use it to become better.

What’s your mission in life and work?
As a Wealth Advisor, my goal is to help people confidently reach their financial goals. But the most important job I have is being a mom. I want to leave the world with three amazing children. I also enjoy coaching youth volleyball because it allows me to pass on the same lessons I learned as a child—values that I hope will stay with them for a lifetime.

Who has had the biggest influence on your journey?
There have been so many wonderful mentors along the way. My parents are the foundation of everything I am, and I’m grateful for the guidance of my volleyball coaches—Coach Buller, Coach Rakers, Coach Winkeler, and Coach Fitzgerald. At work, I’ve been fortunate to have leaders like Keith Cook, Shawn McCutcheon, and John Lynn who have shaped my professional life.

What makes your work unique?
What makes my work unique is how much I truly care. Whether I’m advising a client on their financial future or teaching a child how to serve their first volleyball, I genuinely want to help others feel confident and capable. That’s what brings me joy: empowering others with passion and confidence.

What’s one piece of advice you’d share with others?
Always do the right thing. Be honest, care for others, and give everything you’ve got—whether it’s in work, relationships, or any other part of life. When you do that, you lead a rich and fulfilling life.

What’s a fun fact that most people wouldn’t know about you?
This might surprise people, but in my early 20s, I took breakdancing classes. Despite my height, I was actually pretty good at it!

How do you want people to feel after interacting with you or your business?
I want people to feel confident, peaceful, encouraged, and cared about. My mission is to leave people feeling better than when they came in.

What does being part of the community mean to you?
Community is everything to me. It’s vital to give back, especially when we live in a place like Germantown, where people are always there for each other. I truly believe in the saying, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”

What’s one thing you can’t live without?
My yoga mat. It helps me stay grounded and centered.

What’s the most surprising thing on your bucket list?
I’d love to travel to Germany with my family someday. It’s something I’ve always wanted to experience.

What’s one thing you’ve done recently that brought you unexpected joy?
My husband and son are huge Raiders fans, and we recently went to Vegas to watch a game. It was a bucket list experience, and it was so special to share that moment with my family.

How can people connect with you or learn more about what you offer?
I’m always available through social media, email, text, or a phone call—whatever works best for the other person. I pride myself on being easy to communicate with.
